summer heat wave and settled in Lyon at the beginning of July. And if the days are spent quietly under the air conditioner of the office are always looking for new ideas to keep evenings and weekends, preferably with a little change of scenery and refreshing, just to feel still on vacation!
Antoine made me discover a few weeks ago the "park" Miribel, accessible through a small bus ticket and in less than an hour from the capital of Gaul. The place is popular with all Lyon in search of a little campaign. Most rich bring their barbecue, others do the same fire to the rollers in an atmosphere halfway between Robinson Crusoe and bronzes. It crosses still a lot of families Currant (reference to Life is a Long Quiet River seen recently!) Out of their suburbs, and qualified by their origins, some did not hesitate to sunbathe topless while others bathe fully veiled two meters away. This mixture of genres and people in the countryside creates an air of indifference for a delicious Sunday. I almost forget to mention clearly the highlight of the trip: a lake with nice beaches, not even dirty, even not cold.
The last weekend, the duties of Tester Anthony took us in the Beaujolais region, led by the excellent chef-caterer Olivier Malingreau to taste the delicately prepared appetizers for weddings. So in the midst of receptions, we snuck to judge the performance of this very nice catering. The storm took us by surprise, but the air of Beaujolais was only the more breathable.
This week, Mom and Philemon landed in Lyon on the road vacation. Philemon and one of his friends had come to hear super Vampire Weekend live show @ Fourviere (preview here), and Mom stayed a few days to enjoy the joys history Lyons. I took the opportunity to visit with them the attractions of the city which I had never toured, starting with the pretty lights Brothers Museum in the beautiful villa of the same name.
Walks in Lyon are still fresh, the bear pit at the Red Cross, through Bellecour to ask before the great lion, and by Saint John of ice time.
The alleyways of the Old Lyon and slopes are small corners filled with fresh history of the Middle Ages to the resistance.
All these days were rocked by a little phrase "as this city is beautiful." And even when the storm comes to saving the furnace at sunset.
